Your Questions, Answered
INSURANCE AND PAYMENT
Will my insurance cover health coaching? In most cases, your insurance will cover your visits, but some plans may require copay, coinsurance, or deductible. Medicare patients are covered with the typical 20% co-pay (covered by co-insurance) applies. You are encouraged to contact your insurance provider if you have further questions.
Is there a co-pay? Typically, there is no co-pay or deductible for preventive services. Other services that are not considered preventive may incur a copay, coinsurance, or deductible to you. You are encouraged to contact your insurance provider if you have further questions.
Can you confirm that my insurance was verified and will cover these visits? Your insurance was verified by your doctor’s office prior to your last visit with him/her. We are considered part of his/her staff and are covered under their contract with your insurance plan. In most cases, your insurance will cover your visits. Depending on the type of visit, preventive or non-preventive, a copay, coinsurance, or deductible may be applied. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact your insurance provider.
What if my insurance does not cover my visits or my claims get denied? In the case of a denied claim, we will contact you and make sure you are aware of the denial, then we will work with your doctor’s billing department to get the claim paid. If we are unsuccessful in getting the claim paid, we will give you the option to opt out of the program or pay a reduced cash fee. We will never bill you on a denied claim.
VISIT 101
How do I schedule a visit? Download the inHealth Now app on either the Apple App Store (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). Sign up by providing an email and password. Then sign in to the app, select your physician’s clinic, and schedule a visit with the Coach.
What hours are available to schedule appointments? Appointments can be booked as early as 7:30 am ET. Late and weekend availability is dependent on the individual Coach. To check availability for your assigned Coach, simply download the app and self-schedule your first visit.
How do I start the appointment? Simply open the app at the time of your appointment and the Coach will contact you through the app.
Are the calls by phone or over video? We use video visits, delivered over our app. Video visits have been clinically proven to be more effective than phone-based visits. Video is also covered by insurance, allowing us to bill your provider for a visit and not charge you directly.
How long and how frequent are the video visits? Your introductory, or first, visit is typically no more than 15 minutes. All other visits are typically 30 minutes for the first four months, occurring one time per week. To discuss schedules and frequency, please schedule an introductory visit and review with your Coach.
Can I have the visit on my laptop, tablet or desktop, instead of my phone? Yes! If you do NOT have a smart phone or limited data, your Coach can send a link for a TEAMS Meeting.
Can I download the app on my laptop, tablet or desktop, instead of my phone? Unfortunately, no, the app is only downloadable on a mobile phone.
I downloaded the app, but it says I have no scheduled appointments. Is that a problem? Not at all. Select the ‘Schedule’ option on the bottom right and then select the “+” at the top right to see your Coach’s availability and schedule for that day.
Are visits with the same coach each time? Yes! Unlike other coaching services, we believe seeing the same Coach for all your visits is most effective and produces better results.
Are these telehealth visits? Yes! These are HIPAA-compliant video visits, also referred to as telehealth, delivered through our inHealthNow App.
I’m looking for a specific diet; do I need to request a specific coach? It will make more sense after your first couple of visits, but our coaches do not make specific diet plans or recommendations without the consultation of your primary care provider. If you want to follow a specific diet – such as a plant-based diet – we can pair you with a Coach that has more experience with that diet.
Can I have the coach’s direct number? I need to ask a question. Once you connect with your Coach via the app, you can discuss the best ways to contact them directly for follow-up.
ABOUT INHEALTH
Are your health coaches certified Dietitians/Nutritionists? Our clinical health coaches have at least a B.S. in a health sciences degree and may be registered dietitians, registered nurses or registered nutritionists. All our coaches complete rigorous training, certified by the National Board of Health and Wellness Coaching, before delivering the inHealth method.
I am already working with a dietitian at my provider’s office, why do I need to schedule an appointment with inHealth? Our clinical health coaches are uniquely trained to support you outside of your regular care visits. We will support, empower and guide you in implementing your dietitian’s recommendations as well as address any/all lifestyle factors you desire to support your health. You will see your Coach more often than your doctor or dietitian, typically, so you have someone in your corner more consistently.
