What is robotic-assisted surgery?

The robotic-assisted surgical system uses advanced computer technology and highly precise robotic arms to assist your surgeon during minimally invasive operative procedures.

The arms are controlled by your surgeon throughout the procedure, who sits at a nearby console and monitors the inner operative site via high-definition digital images. The images are transmitted in real-time to a monitor that provides very clear and accurate 3-D images of the surgical field.

The robotic arms, equipped with surgical instruments and a camera, are inserted via several small, 2-inch incisions. This eliminates the need for the long incision required for traditional “open” surgery and reduces physical trauma to the targeted area and nearby tissue structures.
